Training & Professional Development

Building the capability of teams and organisations — not just the individual practitioner.

Good practice does not scale through one excellent clinician. It scales when an organisation understands what a role contributes, how to use it well, and where it carries risk. This is especially true where social work is under-recognised — in aged care, for example, staff often carry psychosocial, family and end-of-life complexity without a clear sense of what social work can take on, or when to bring it in. Naming that, to staff and to leadership, is some of the highest-value work there is.

How it works

  • Delivered online by default; in-person available with travel loading
  • To a single team, or to a small group of providers jointly on the one session
  • Alignment by an agreed topic list or submitted questions — content is built on clinical judgement, not delivered to a script

Indicative topics

Sessions are tailored; these are examples of what teams ask for, particularly in paediatric, family and behaviour-support settings:

  • Risk recognition and mandatory reporting in NSW
  • The psychosocial picture behind presenting behaviour
  • Referral pathways and service navigation — making warm referrals that connect
  • Trauma-informed practice with children and families
  • Supporting children whose parents have their own complex needs
