Shaping how the system understands and uses social work — across aged care, disability and housing.

How social work is positioned in policy decides whether it reaches the people who most need it. I contribute at the system level — through policy consultation, submissions and research — alongside the frontline practice that keeps it grounded. This runs in parallel with my doctoral research into social work in aged care, and is the credibility engine underneath the consulting and training.

What this includes

  • Membership of the AASW Aged Care Working Group
  • Consultation on home care policy, and submissions on the role of social work in aged care
  • Policy engagement across disability and housing — including presenting to iCare on access and housing, and engaging with Homes NSW on housing policy
  • Doctoral research into social work in aged care, and research collaboration on residential aged care
  • Teaching and supervising emerging social workers, including through ACAP
